Moving locally may be a little less complicated, but there are things that you can do to make it go even smoother and make your move as stress-less as possible.
Plan Ahead- When moving, sometimes you can’t choose when it happens. If you can choose however, our team recommends that you plan for low or off season. Off season times include during the school year, weekdays, and the middle of the month. Call us, your local moving company, to see the time we would recommend for your move. Do research- Choosing the right moving company to handle your move is important. Q/A
Q. Do you provide free moving quotes?
A. Yes, we offer free quotes. We quote most normal moves over the phone. For larger homes with more complex moving services where we will be doing packing, an in-home estimate is usually required. Please understand that this is an estimate and the actual job could be longer or shorter if the circumstances of the job change.
Q. What kind of cancellation policy do you have?
A. We do not have a cancellation policy. Please call us right away if you need to reschedule. Rescheduling would be by our availability. We do ask that if your move date is not firm, then stay in contact so that we can schedule as needed.
Q. Do you charge a travel time fee, from your office to my home?
A. We will need to consult with you about your specific moving situation. There might be a trip time charge to cover travel time or in some cases a fuel expense. We do not typically add a fuel surcharge unless it is an out of town move or if there is an extensive amount of driving involved.
Q. Do you charge an additional fee for larger items such as an organ, safe, piano, or for extra flights of stairs to move items?
A. We usually do not charge any extra above our standard hourly rate for heavy or large items. This applies if they are part of a regular move and not a flat rate job. There are some exceptions. If you very heavy or unique piece moved that requires special equipment, then an extra fee may apply, this is on a case by case basis and only if needed.
Q. Does Helping Hands Express Moving & Storage charge by the box, item, hour, or room size?
A. On a standard job that entails a full move, there is an estimated hourly rate. The hourly charge is based on the number of men on the job (i.e. two men, three men, etc.). We also offer moving jobs on flat or per piece rate if it only involves moving a couple of items such as moving a piano or safe. The flat rate will be priced on the circumstances of that moving service.
